CHICAGO AREA CAMP DETAILS: August 26-28
The Chicago area session of Grown Ups Camp, we’re taking over Lake of the Woods for the weekend! The private 80 acres of campgrounds are pristine and feature awesome amenities including a large lakefront, swimming pool, go karts, basketball courts, flag football field, studio space, archery, soccer field, lacrosse field, baseball diamond, and more! The campsite is conveniently located just 2 hours from Chicago, 75 minutes from Grand Rapids, 50 minutes from Notre Dame, 2 hours from Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan, 2 hours from the University of Illinois, and 40 minutes from Western Michigan University. This popular summer camp is well-maintained and the grounds are beautiful. Cabin bunks house 10-15 people and all include full bathrooms. The chefs at Lake of the Woods pride themselves on using fresh, healthy ingredients, so the menu during Grown Ups Camp is sure to be amazing. We are happy take care of your vegetarian, vegan and allergy needs, just be sure to let us know before hand.
Activities available at Chicago area Grown Ups Camp will include: Waterskiing, Tubing, Canoeing, Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, Pool Parties, Nature Hikes, Arts and Crafts, High Ropes, Rock Climbing, Yoga, Friendship Bracelets, Capture the Flag, Relay Races, Dodgeball, Corn-hole Tournament, Slip N Slide, Color Wars, Dance Parties, S’Mores, Campfires, Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, Kickball, Ziplining, and so much more!

Friday you can arrive as early as 3pm to get settled into you bunk and start exploring the beautiful camp. Take a hike or lounge by the lake with a cocktail until Happy Hour begins at 5pm. Some campers arrive at Happy Hour or just after work to start their fun weekend. Dinner is served at 6pm followed by opening ceremonies and the kick off of COLOR WARS! Your team will forge their spirit for the Color War activities throughout the weekend, starting Friday night with the first series of games and challenges. This is followed by a dance party under the night sky.
Saturday is filled with the camp activities, team games and color war challenges. Get your adventure on! Pick and choose the activities you want to do to make the weekend the best it can be for you. The options begin first thing in the morning, so you can get up early for yoga or a hike, or sleep in a bit, but breakfast is at 8:30am. After breakfast the camp is open as your playground, you can choose from canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, archery, rock climbing, high ropes,waterskiing or crafts. Join in on scheduled games of dodgeball, kickball and volleyball throughout the day. We take a break for lunch around noon and get right back into it again. For safety reasons, the bar isn’t open during the camp’s activities, but at 4pm, the bar opens and the color war slip ‘n slide/flip cup challenge begins! The day is filled with color war challenges and opportunities to earn points for your team. We know that no one can take a day like this without a nap, so get your rest in because the night will be filled with fun too. Dinner is at 6:30pm, followed by color war challenges, the Un-Talent Show and a live band with chilling around the campfire and eating s’mores.
Sunday morning breakfast is served continental style followed by more camp activities, 9-10:30am, just in case you missed something on Saturday. You need to pack up and move out of your cabin before Brunch at 11. Brunch includes Mimosas and Bloody Marys, of course! After Brunch the final round of the corn hole tournament and the Color War challenges will determine the winner. Closing ceremonies will include trophies, awards and final goodbyes before we head home at 3pm and back to Real-Life Adulting.
